Tucson Values Teachers (TVT) presented the March Teacher Excellence Award to Emily Patterson, an ELA teachers at Sahuarita Middle School.
Ms. Patterson was nominated by her assistant principal, Robert Beachy. In his nominating statement, Mr. Beachy said, “Ms. Patterson is always prepared and delivers high quality instruction to all of her students. More importantly, it is her genuine concern and care for students that shines through.”
He went on to say, “During remote and hybrid learning, Ms. Patterson has gone above and beyond to keep her students engaged. Aside from academic support, she has also provided emotional support. During her virtual office hours, Ms. Patterson approaches literature with a calm and thoughtful tone. Her students love her and she helps make Sahuarita Middle School a wonderful place to be for students, parents, and staff alike.”
