First-grade teacher, Brittany Weeks, was presented the Teacher Excellence Award on May 8. Weeks, who has taught at Canyon View Elementary School in Catalina Foothills School District for the past eight years, was nominated by her students through song parody.
Students described Weeks as “nice and funny, creative and funny.” They ended with, “We all wish we had eight days of Weeks!”
Superintendent Mary Kamerzell was present for the presentation, as was the music teacher who helped the students submit the video nomination, Patricia Moore.
